Ipai and Aleph Alpha enter into cooperation

AI is becoming increasingly more important and influential throughout our everyday lives, especially the technology emanating from Microsoft and Google, who are both developing solutions that integrate AI technologies into their search engines.

Germany is also developing an international-standard AI centre with Ipai (Innovation Park Artificial Intelligence). The project is funded by the state of Baden-Württemberg and Dieter Schwarz Foundation. Heilbronn is the chosen location. The second phase probably will be completed in early 2024. An international AI campus will follow.

According to Handelsblatt on 29/08/2023 (“Ipai and Aleph Alpha announce partnership”, by Larissa Holzki), their new partner is the Heidelberg-based AI start-up, Aleph Alpha. Aleph Alpha is developing a Large Language Model (LLM) with Luminous, that ostensibly can also keep up with the big US competitors. Luminous has a particular advantage in that it can also be used to determine which sources the language model uses to generate its answers.

The positive outcomes are being eagerly anticipated.
